On Friday, I did Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X. I really took it easy on my knees. As in: no weights or 5lb weights, depending on the exercise. I suppose I could have done more, but I thought I would treat the leg stuff as rehab. In any event, my prior weight levels were decidedly not an option. So I focused instead on stability and–of course–pull ups.
I did pull ups with no regard for the fact that I would need to use those arms again on Saturday morning to play tennis. It was a doubles match and we lost. I could blame it on my poor arms, but that wasn’t the reason. Our opponents had the very annoying habit of keeping the ball in play and placing it in inconvenient spots. On the plus side, it was a beautiful day and I played the entire match without a knee strap. Which is not to say the knee is healed. The weird discomfort just comes and goes and it was absent throughout my time on the court. So, if you measure winning and losing by points on a scoreboard, I definitely lost yesterday. If you measure it by incremental successes, such as playing without a knee brace, then I did pretty well. But that’s just what losers say…..
I also did Chest & Back & ARX as scheduled.
