Back on Tuesday, I was genuinely excited to be doing the Shoulders and Arms routine. The reason: no legs are involved. The knee was feeling it even after my moderate plyo effort the prior day. So much so, that for the first time EVER (with the exception of my very first P90X routine), I skipped Ab Ripper X. I discovered it’s quite impossible to do that routine if your knee won’t bend. As I write this, it’s still an issue and I will have to bail out from the tennis singles playoffs. This all leaving me a bit depressed. The entire reason I started down this fitness path was to extend my tennis “career” along with other physical pursuits. And now I’m skipping the playoffs. Waaah. Poor me.
Obviously, I need to listen to my body and allow it to recover. Failing that, I’ll need to suck it up and see a doctor and go through the pointless X-Ray, MRI process and then be told I need to give it rest and rehab. Poor, poor me.
Not to worry, my older friends assure me. It gets worse.
Or like I always say to someone who’s feeling down: Don’t worry, years from now you’ll look back on these as the good old days!
