Yes, beer and Advil was also consumed. But it was mostly tennis.
So it was fortunate that I happened to have a Yoga session scheduled in between the matches. I really needed the stretching and likely would have injured something had I not done the yoga.
It’s between tennis seasons in Atlanta, so I hadn’t really been playing much. Then, bam! All of a sudden we have our annual Labor Day neighborhood “tournament.” It’s great fun, but my body sure wasn’t ready for the pounding. Plus, it was very hot and humid. I lost five pounds (all water weight) playing on Day 1. So even thought I thought I was drinking water/gator-aide liberally, I wasn’t drinking nearly enough. On the second day, I awoke with very tight, cramped legs. So, again, that yoga session (and lots of fluids) really cured me.
The fall ALTA season starts next week and I’m looking forward to that. I can always tell when a new season is upon me because my toenails have all grown back.
