Round 7: P90X / X2 Hybrid, Days 67 – 72: With Week 11 Comes Spring

redbudSpring has finally appeared to make its way down to the greater Atlanta area. Redbud and cherry trees are in full bloom. And, yes, tree pollen is beginning to waft through the breeze.

Before the weather broke, it was cold and rainy most of last week, pretty much preventing the ability to play tennis. So the weather did cooperate to help facilitate the recovery of my tennis elbow. Oh, it’s still there, unfortunately. And I am continuing to modify my routines, as needed, to avoid pain. And–there’s no avoiding it–tennis will most definitely resume this week.

Friday evening, Eileen and I did a 5 mile hike with the Atlanta Outdoor Club down the road at the Jones Bridge section of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. It was a fast hike through the area, yet–amazingly–we did see a very large barred owl up high in a tree.

Into week 11 of this hybrid now. I can report that the mixing up of routines from week to week certainly contributes to “muscle confusion.” Each time I do a resistance routine, it’s almost like doing it for the first time. My body forgets the subtle “cheats” to make a given effort marginally easier. Maybe. Who knows, really? It’s not just my muscles that are confused.
