Now that I’ve completed the second week of the Insanity “Max” routines, I can report that I am consistently getting better. With only two more weeks to go in this round, I’m optimistic that I’ll finish with good results and in decent shape for tennis.
Unfortunately, while my legs and heart are in good shape, my tennis elbow is not yet fully healed. This became apparent after spending an hour hitting balls yesterday. Needless to say, this is extremely frustrating. And I remain undecided if I’ll attempt to play some mixed doubles anyway. Singles remains off the table. I know I can’t introduce that much trauma to the elbow in it’s current state.
Despite the ache, and the very poor play from not having been out for three-quarters of a year, it was nice to be on the court. Hopefully, I’ll fully heal at some point in the New Year.
